Caring for your jewellery:

This is really quite easy and involves common sense more than anything else.
Here are a few tips for you though to help you keep your jewellery looking its best!

Firstly you should try to avoid spraying hairspray, perfume or similar items on your jewellery as it can tarnish the surface.

All metals are susceptible to tarnishing, even platinum and pure gold. There are some simple steps you can take to slow down the tarnishing process though.
Tarnishing is caused by exposure to oxygen and moisture, so you should store your jewellery in dry and preferably air tight conditions.
Silver should be cleaned with a soft cotton cloth, soapy water can be used for particularly dirty pieces.
Anodised aluminium can be buffed up with a soft cotton cloth as well, abrasive surfaces could damage or remove some of the colour after time so these should be avoided.
Try not to store anodised aluminium or steel jewellery next to silver items as they could dent or scratch the silver.
If any precious metal items become particularly tarnished they should be taken to a jeweller for professional cleaning.
Acryilic can be washed in soapy water with a very soft cloth. Out of all the materials I use this is the easiest to damage, but it does have its advantages as it wont tarnish so should not need professional cleaning in the future.

Jewellery Sizes:

When ordering rings or bangles it is important to choose the correct size.
You can ask your local jeweller to tell you what ring sizes you need.
For bangles you should measure around the widest part of your hand with a tape measure to make sure it will fit over your hand.
Bracelets with a catch wont need to be as big so a measurement taken around your wrist will indicate the appropriate size.
Some necklaces are also avaiabe in different lengths, please choose the one you require from the options available.
